Reader’s Theater, Double Digit Additon, River Rocks, and Writing Partners

on April 17, 2015

During guided reading some of our groups have been working on a reader’s theater In order to practice our fluency and expression.  All reading groups will get a chance to perform a reader’s theater before the year is over. Here is a link to the video. Sadly, the whole play did not get recorded. 😦

In math we are working hard to solve double digit addition problems. We did a small group project to add using double numbers. We used 10-sticks and circles and the building method to solve.

We also sorted river rocks during science. We used screens to sort river rocks by sizes. We were able to find sand, small gravel, large gravel, small pebbles, and large pebbles.

We continue to work on our all-about books. We used a writing partner to help us edit and revise our writing.
