Mrs. Rodriguez's First Grade Class Blog

Rice Lake Elementary

Monday and Tuesday

on December 11, 2013

Before sharing about our class activities, please consider joining us on Friday, December 20th from 1:00-2:00 to help decorate gingerbread houses. It would be great if many of our first graders had someone to help on this day. Also, I have enough graham crackers for our event.
We have been busy learning all about holidays around the world on Monday we learned about Kwanzaa and today we learned how Christmas is celebrated in Germany. We learned that gingerbread men and houses originated in Germany!
In math we have been learning about 10s and 1s. Our math stations provided a hands-on way to learn more about this concept.

We have had indoor recess for the past few days. It looks like tomorrow will be another indoor recess day. Feel free to send something quiet for your first grader to do during indoor recess. Hopefully they will be able to go outside by Thursday or Friday! Those first graders need to run around! 🙂
