Monday’s Events

on December 11, 2012

Even with all the snow and a few late buses, we had a wonderful day complete with a snow-filled recess! Here are some of the highlights!

  • We began our study of Holidays Around the World today.  We learned about Hanukkah.  We learned a little bit about the history of the holiday, some of the traditions, and also read a story called Light the Lights.  We played the dreidel game.  Jonny even brought a dreidel to share for Monday share day so he was able to help teach the class.  It worked out perfectly!
  • Bella shared her “All About Me” poster.  She did an excellent job.

  • We built, found, and used words from our weekly word family. This week we are learning about the /sh/ words.
  • In math, we practiced adding larger numbers by using a number path.   Using the number path allows us to add large numbers.
  • In art, we got to paint a gingerbread body, but instead of using paint, we finger painted with chocolate pudding!  Some of us may have licked our fingers afterwards.  🙂  We will add decorations tomorrow.

The newsletter went home today.  Please read the second page as it has some important information about a fun event that will take place next week! 🙂
