Monday’s Highlights

on November 26, 2012

Today was a really good day! We were very on task and focused today. Here are some of the highlights.

We learned how good readers identify the topic, main idea, and supporting details when reading non-fiction. We practiced this comprehension strategy while reading the book “Where Do Frogs Come From?” This is a tricky strategy that we will continue to work on. Here is a chart to show our learning.

Blake shared his “Star of the Week” poster. Didn’t he do a great job?!

We also learned about the -ing and -ang word families. We sorted -ing and -ang words on the SmartBoard.

In math we learned about decade numbers. We learned that any number we say when we count by 10 is a decade number. We also learned that in the number 60 there is 6 groups of 10.

Finally, we discussed key vocab words that we will hear tomorrow at our play. These words include bullying, target, tattling, reporting, and bystander.

Have a great night! Our play presented by CLIMB theater will be at 10:10 tomorrow.
